Breach, 2025.
'Breach' confronts the fragility of our oceans and ruptures we create within them. The torn surface suggests more than just a physical rip – it is a wound in the delicate balance of the environment we live in, particularly the marine environment, caused by human impact. What lies beneath the breach is left raw and exposed, reflected by the raw linen the imagery is painted on.
The painting captures a moment of rupture that is both violent and revealing. The sea, often imagined as boundless and eternal, is shown here as vulnerable and its surface integrity compromised.
