Lucila is an Australian oil painter of bright painterly florals, landscapes, portraits (Archibald finalist 2025) and an evolving series of kangaroo-masked family members (including one of her daughter in 2022 Salon des Refuses). Her works are held in private collections in Australia, USA and UK. She has a piece in the Gippsland Art Gallery permanent collection and several commissioned pieces in the St John of God Hospital Ballarat and the Lucas Community centre in Lucas.
For Lucila, art is a vital element of working through, documenting and re-experiencing love, loss, wonder, whimsy and pathos. Lucila is influenced by literature, dreams, conversations and day to day life. Lucila has a lifelong fascination with the visual world, working across two different forms of it both through Art and through Medicine, working concurrently as a practicing Radiologist and Nuclear Medicine Specialist. Lucila was the winner of the 2019-20 AGES Society Art Prize and has had work selected in the finals of more than 20 National Competitions including the Archibald and Portia Geach.
