The eye
A single, carefully painted eye at the centre — the human element in an abstract field.
Fabian Utta

Fabian Utta was born in 1996 in Konstanz, Germany, and lives and works in Mannheim. He discovered his love for art in 2013 while experimenting with excess wall paint, and his first exhibitions followed just two years later. It took two aborted business degrees to realise he was better off concentrating on what he is — an artist — rather than trying to become something else. With that realisation he devoted himself entirely to art, leading to his most creative and productive years yet. The aim of his work is above all to touch the viewer, so they can engage in an intimate dialogue with the painting and explore themselves. He creates his expressive works, mostly on canvas in gouache and acrylic, through a skilful combination of abstract and realistic elements that, with their lively colours, most often focus on portraits.
