Represented Artist

Melanie Jai.

Melanie Jai creates eye-catching pieces that are influenced by her personal experience, which is a trauma of domestic and sexual assault and years of childhood abuse. Melanie Jai wishes to use the canvas as a voice for those who have not yet found theirs. Painting and writing became her tools for healing and regaining control of her own life. The figurative visual creations feature a balance of light and darkness, a metaphor of her experience. The recurring paper boat motif represents the fragility and strength each human has and the ability to be repaired when broken.
